Pregnancy brings a lot of questions. When is my due date? Am I gaining the right amount of weight? When did conception happen? What is my fertile window if we are trying to conceive?

The Health & Fitness section on CalConvs includes several free pregnancy-related tools that help answer these questions quickly. This guide explains each one, how to use it, and what the results mean.

Medical Disclaimer: Online pregnancy calculators are estimating tools based on averages. They cannot replace advice from your doctor, midwife, or obstetrician. Always confirm your due date and progress with a healthcare professional.

The Pregnancy Calculator — Track Your Progress

The Pregnancy Calculator is the central tool. Enter the date of your last menstrual period (LMP) and it tells you: how many weeks pregnant you are, your estimated due date, which trimester you are in, and key developmental milestones by week.

Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period, not from conception. This is why being "four weeks pregnant" often means conception happened only about two weeks ago.

The Due Date Calculator

The Due Date Calculator uses Naegele's Rule — the standard medical formula:

Naegele's Rule: Calculating Your Due Date

EDD = First day of your LMP + 280 days (40 weeks)

Example: LMP = 1 January 2025 → EDD = 8 October 2025

Only about 5% of babies arrive on their exact due date. The normal full-term range is 37 to 42 weeks gestation.

If your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days, the calculator adjusts its estimate automatically. A first-trimester ultrasound remains the most accurate way to confirm your due date.

Pregnancy Trimesters at a Glance

TrimesterWeeksKey Developments
First trimesterWeeks 1–12Major organ development, highest miscarriage risk, morning sickness common
Second trimesterWeeks 13–27Growth accelerates, movement felt, anatomy scan usually at week 20
Third trimesterWeeks 28–40+Rapid weight gain, lungs mature, baby positions for birth

The Ovulation Calculator — Finding Your Fertile Window

If you are trying to conceive, knowing your fertile window is important. Ovulation typically happens around day 14 of a 28-day cycle, but it varies from person to person.

The ovulation calculator estimates:

  • Your next expected ovulation date
  • Your fertile window — typically the 5 days before ovulation plus ovulation day itself
  • Your next expected period start date

Sperm can survive in the reproductive tract for up to 5 days. Having intercourse in the days leading up to ovulation increases the chance of conception.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Calculator

Weight gain during pregnancy is normal and necessary — but the right amount depends on your pre-pregnancy BMI. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) provides these guidelines:

Pre-Pregnancy BMIRecommended Total GainTypical Rate
Underweight (BMI < 18.5)28–40 lbs (12.7–18.1 kg)About 1 lb per week in 2nd & 3rd trimester
Normal weight (BMI 18.5–24.9)25–35 lbs (11.3–15.9 kg)About 1 lb per week in 2nd & 3rd trimester
Overweight (BMI 25–29.9)15–25 lbs (6.8–11.3 kg)About 0.6 lb per week in 2nd & 3rd trimester
Obese (BMI ≥ 30)11–20 lbs (5–9 kg)About 0.5 lb per week in 2nd & 3rd trimester

Use the BMI Calculator to check your pre-pregnancy BMI first, then use the pregnancy weight gain tool to find the recommended range for your category.

The Period Calculator

Even outside of pregnancy, tracking your menstrual cycle is useful for health awareness. The period calculator predicts:

  • Your next expected period start date
  • Cycle length patterns based on your history
  • Ovulation timing relative to your cycle

A typical cycle is 21 to 35 days. Cycles that are consistently shorter, longer, or irregular may be worth discussing with a doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is an online due date calculator?

Based on LMP alone, it is accurate to within a week or two for most women with regular cycles. A first-trimester ultrasound is the most accurate confirmation of your due date.

What if my cycle is not 28 days?

The pregnancy and ovulation calculators on CalConvs allow you to enter your actual average cycle length, which adjusts the estimates accordingly.

I know my due date from an ultrasound — can I still use the calculator?

Yes. Enter your due date into the pregnancy calculator to track how many weeks along you are and view upcoming milestones.
